What’s included
Every PF Hosting plan includes the same things. What changes from one plan to another is the memory and the disk. The service is the same. A small website gets the same attack filter, the same backups and the same updates as a large one.
Here is what each plan includes and the terms we work under. If you want to know which plan suits you, check the prices. If you’re wondering where your data is, start with where your data is stored.
Included in every plan
A server just for your website
One server per website. No other customer shares its processor, memory or disk. If another website gets a traffic spike, yours won’t notice.
Fast all over the world
Your website is served from more than 600 locations around the world. Each visitor receives it from the nearest one: less waiting for them and less load on your server.
An attack filter
In front of your website sits a filter that stops attacks before they arrive. It blocks the most common ones and known sources of harm. Its rules update automatically.
Nobody gets into your server
Nobody can access your server from outside. Your website is visible; the server is not.
A secure connection, always up to date
The padlock in the browser is always on. It renews itself, so nobody has to remember it.
A backup every night
Every night we back up the entire server. We keep copies from the last seven days. If something goes wrong, we can restore your website to how it was on any of those days.
Updates every week
Every week our team reviews the updates for WordPress, plugins and the theme. They test them and then apply them. You don’t have to do them yourself, and they are never applied blindly.
Server security kept up to date
Every week we update the server’s security. We do it outside your working hours.
We manage your domain
Your domain is the name people type to reach your website. We manage it for you. When you need a change, just ask us.
Continuous monitoring
We monitor your server and the network that delivers your website. We check that they are running and responding quickly. If something falls outside normal levels, we spot it before your visitors do.
Speed is included
It is not sold separately: it comes with every plan.
- Your website stores each page once it has been built, so it opens instantly without being rebuilt.
- Images are lighter in weight and use more efficient formats.
- The website downloads lighter.
- The server is fine-tuned for WordPress.
Sometimes a website is slow for reasons other than the server. The design your website uses, which in WordPress is called a theme, can sometimes consume too many resources. Or a plugin might. We tell you in the initial analysis, before you migrate your website.
Terms of service
We install the plugins ourselves
Do you need a new plugin? Ask us, we’ll test it and install it. That way nothing breaks your website.
Reasonable use of traffic
Our plans come with a large amount of traffic included. If your website grows and outgrows it, we’ll talk it through with you.
Migrating your website is included
Moving your current website to PF Hosting is included. We explain how we do it in Migrating your WordPress site.
Email is not included
PF Hosting hosts your website, not your email. If you need email with your domain, we offer it separately with PF Mail.
Changing plans
You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. The change requires a brief server stop of 5 to 10 minutes. We schedule it outside working hours and let you know in advance.
How we do it
Amazon data centres (AWS) in the European Union. One dedicated server per website, with no public address. In front, CloudFront delivers the website from more than 600 locations worldwide, with an attack filter using managed rules. The domain’s DNS is managed in Route 53. The daily backups are handled by Amazon’s backup service.
